Sept 07, 2006 15:00 EST LA JOLLA GAMING HIRES NEW PRESIDENT TO HEAD LAS VEGAS OPERATIONS In another major step in establishing itself in the Las Vegas market, San Diego, CA-based La Jolla Gaming, Inc. announces the hiring of Douglas Sanderson as President, effective September 12, 2006 . Although Mr. Sanderson's responsibilities will include other world markets, his vast experience and personal relationships in the gaming industry, especially within the Las Vegas market, make him the perfect candidate to lead the Las Vegas office. Mr. Sanderson's 16 years of gaming technology experience includes stints as Director of Nevada Sales for International Game Technology Inc. (IGT), VP of Worldwide Sales at Bally Gaming, Inc., President & CEO of Sega Gaming Technology, Inc., and President & CEO of Fortune Entertainment Corporation. He has also been a keynote speaker and/or panel member for various industry conferences, including the Southern Nevada Development Preview, the World Gaming Conference, the Southern Gaming Conference, the Asian-Australian Gaming Conference, and the Canadian Gaming Conference. Prior to his career in gaming technology, Mr. Sanderson spent 22 years in education and athletics as a highly decorated basketball coach, golf coach, Assistant Athletic Director, Athletic Director, and Lecturer at the collegiate level. His position as Assistant Athletic Director at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas provided the opportunity to establish personal relationships with some of the most influential people in the Las Vegas Gaming industry, which was the catalyst for his change in career paths. Mr. Sanderson and his wife Marisa have 4 children and one granddaughter and are very active in charitable and community work. In addition to his involvement in the Muscular Dystrophy Association Executive Committee, the Clark County Public Education Foundation Executive Committee, the Las Vegas Boys and Girls Club, and various other community organizations, Mr. Sanderson is the Founder, Chairman, and Tournament Manager of the Las Vegas Champions & Celebrities Celebration, which brings together professional golfers, celebrities, and amateur golfers for a televised golf tournament that will raise money to benefit Muscular Dystrophy, Breast Cancer, and Junior Golf. “The opportunity to bring somebody with the character, knowledge, experience, and reputation that Doug brings to the table into our organization is one that doesn't come around very often.
